Essential Point:

You can only Lose Yourself if there is a “self” to Lose.

Overview:

Only when you define your “self” through that which can Change – through the dualized World of Loss and Gain – are you able be Lost. The more you “have” and “do” the more “self” there is, just as the less you have and do, the less “self” there is. Yet, when you Know yourself as the Self rather than the self, it is not possible to be Lost as the Self is Realized as that which is always right Here and Now.

When you construct your sense of self through the Mind, which is to say through Thought Forms, the self that you Believe you are is inherently unstable as all Form is inherently unstable – over enough time, it must dissolve back into the Nothingness from which it arose. This is Universal Law.

This is why the Ego, as the “Mind-made” self, is such an insecure sense of self, and why Fear is the primary structural backbone of the Ego’s existence. As it always stands on the verge of annihilation and oblivion, it must remain in Survival Mode.

Yet, when tragedy strikes, and Form collapses, your Egoic Identity temporarily collapses with it so that you don’t know who you are anymore. Put another way, when everything you Thought you were is Lost, you lose yourself too. You lose your “self.” This leads to a freak out of the Ego, which is the Essence of the Identity Crisis, and while uncomfortable, it’s an incredible opportunity to Realize the Truth of who you are.

As you Awaken out of the Dream of the Ego, out of the False self and into the Real Self, fragmentation and instability are transmuted into Wholeness and stability. No longer is there a Fear of “Losing Yourself” because no longer is there a self to lose. You have transcended the illusion of Loss through the Essential Realization that you are the Unchanging, Eternal Now that is always was, always is, and always will be right Here.
