Essential Point:

Loss and Gain only appear to Exist on the Level of Mind.

In Truth, there is No Loss just as there is No Gain.

Overview:

The Ego derives its sense and size of self from the World of “stuff” – that is, from what it has, what it does, what it looks like, who it knows, among other worldly things. The Ego sources its Power through your Mind-made Attachment to this World of Form.

In this sense, the more Form you “Gain,” the more “self” you feel. This is perhaps most obvious and relatable in the context of Money. For example, when you are identified with your Mind and come into significant Material wealth, your Ego Density grows drastically – you feel much “bigger,” much more “Powerful,” and much more “Full of yourself” because the self feels more full. You quite literally Believe there is “more of you.” The self that you think you are, as you have defined within your Mind, has grown and so the Ego, as this Mind-made self, grows with it. This is precisely why those who come into fame or wealth tend to have a “Big Ego.” Form is Ego Food, and the more it eats the fatter it gets.

Oppositely, when you Lose a lot of money, or lose your job, or go bankrupt – your sense and size of self plummets with it. You shrivel up and feel small, as if you have no value and nothing to offer. Your entire sense of worth collapses as Form collapses because you Believe you are the Form. As such, when the Form disappears, so do you. When you Lost Form, you Believe that you have Lost part of your self.

Of course, in both scenarios neither the Interpreted expansion or contraction of self is actually true – it is only an Illusion occurring in your Mind. None of it is actually Real, it only feels Real because you Believe it is Real. In such an event, you are living in the ultimately False and therefore Insane subjective Reality as colored through your Individually Conditioned Mind.

In Truth, which is to say beyond this Conditioned Mind that enlivens the Ego, there is no such thing as Loss, just as there is no such thing as Gain. There is no expansion or contraction of Self as the Self is already infinite and its unchanging Formless Essence cannot be Changed through the Changing of Form that it temporarily expresses itself as on the surface. The Self, which you are, is beyond expansion and contraction. This is an essential Realization on the Awakening Journey.

To this end, Self is not determined through the World, as it is what empowers the World. The True Self is the Pure Formless Consciousness that enlivens all Form, but it is not fundamentally the Form in and of itself. And as Gain and Loss can only exist on the Level of Form – the Dimensions in which there is perceived duality and polarity – The True Self is beyond Gain and Loss.

Thus, the fluctuations of Worldly circumstance are seen in Truth as mere Changings of Form and not a changing of Self and its underlying value. The Self is constant. This Realization brings deep Peace as it brings an end to otherwise never-ending Pursuit of Happiness.

With an Awakened sense of self rooted in Beingness rather than Humanness, you Know yourself to be Eternally Infinite and Abundant. This Awakening shifts your Consciousness beyond the Egoic Duality so that the misperceptions of Gain and Loss no longer have any bearing on your Happiness, Peace, or Fulfillment in Life.
