Essential Point:
Light is to Truth as Darkness is to Ego, and ultimately, Light is Realized through the Darkness, as there is no Enlightenment without illusion.
Overview:
Light has many references, but ultimately, you are the Light; And specifically, the Light of Consciousness. You, as a human, are an emanation of Pure Consciousness, of Source itself. In your Essence, you are the Light of Consciousness and in your humaneness you are the Darker, temporary expression of Form.
Light refers to the Truth, and in your Essence you are Nothing but it. The Light stands next to the Dark, which is a reference to the illusions of who you are, and the illusions of Reality. Light is to Truth as Darkness is to Ego, and ultimately, Light is Realized through the Darkness, as there is no Enlightenment without Illusion.
As is often the case, you reside in the Darkness of the Ego until the Suffering becomes so intolerable that the Ego collapses on itself; at which point, the veil of illusion is lifted so that the Light that you are, which you have always been, is brought into Awareness through the Awareness.
Once the Light is witnessed, the Dark is seen and appreciated as an integral and necessary catalyzing agent of the Awakening-Journey, for it is what led you to the Light. At the Awakened Level of Consciousness, the polarity of Light and Dark is Transcended so that they lose their conceptual distinctions and merge into Oneness.
